Fr. Tony Mazurkiewicz, President of Mount Carmel welcomes families to the 2013 Open House

One of the best ways to find out what Mount Carmel is all about is to attend the Open House.  Following on the first Open House in November, which was attended by over 150 families, Mount Carmel will welcome prospective students and families to its second Fall Open House on Thursday, December 5,from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

The event features a series of presentations about Mount Carmel’s mission, academic program, and unique approach to all-boys education.  In addition, guests will be able to learn about the numerous clubs and activities and the 19  athletic programs offered at the school.

Those who come to Open House are sure to leave stuffed with information . . . and the home-cooked treats prepared by the Mothers’  Club are sure to satisfy, as well. The chicken salad sandwiches, mini sub sandwiches, pasta salad, caesar salad, vegetables, chips, cookies, cupcakes, and cake all contribute to the festive atmosphere at Open House.  According to Mr. Bill Nolan, Director of Admissions and Enrollment, “we want everyone to get the feel for the family and community aspect that MC has to offer.”

One question that is often asked by parents concerns transportation. Mr. Craig Ferguson, Alumni Director and Transportation Coordinator,  will be among the many faculty and staff available to answer questions.

In addition to the two regular Open Houses programs, Mount Carmel also offers an “Honors Program Preview” on Tuesday, November 25, at 6:00 PM.  Students who are interested in the new Ehrenstrom Honors Fraternity and Mount Carmel’s outstanding Honors/AP curriculum are encouraged to attend.  Reservations can be made by calling the Enrollment Office (773.324.1020 x 247).
