Marko Boricich ’14 was one of many MC students who participated in last year’s Mothers’ Club Fashion Show.

The Annual Fashion Show is one of the highlights of the year for Mount Carmel’s Mothers’ Club.

This year’s  Fashion Show, entitled “The Magic of Motown,” takes place this Sunday, March 22, at 12:00. It will be held at Georgio’s Banquet Hall, which is located at 8800 W. 159th Street, in Orland Park.

The luncheon will start at 1:00 with the fashion show to follow. Tickets are $57.75 for adults and $36.75 for children. If you are looking to get a table, go to the MC website and register. A maximum of 10 people are allowed at each table.

Every year the Mothers’ Club gives out an award to recognize the hard work and dedication that someone has given to Mount Carmel. This year, the recipient of the award is Elanor Reardon.  Previous winners of this award include MC’s own Sr. Helen Jeanne Hurley, the longtime math teacher at school.

A unique aspect about this fashion show is that MC’s own students and faculty join the mothers in modeling the clothing. Everyone involved in the show is connected to MC in some way, so it’s nice to see everyone come out and support each other.

“It is a nice day for everyone to come together and have a good time,” says senior Troy Weissenhofer.

The fashion show is split up into different segments: there is the senior/prom run, some short skits, the dancing portion, and the modeling.

The seniors who are in the senior run include Pat Fischer, Elliot Gates, Connor Gill, Cole Gryczan, Chris Johnson, Zach Mirabelli, Ryan Murphy, Ian Parker, Callen Vais, Troy Weissenhofer, and Jack White. All of these students will have the chance to walk with their mothers down the aisle.

Another group of students from the National Honor Society will be putting on a dance skit for the audience, along with assisting with the raffle.

Finally, a group of MC underclassmen will be modeling The Buckle and Golf Galaxy.

This year’s Fashion Show promises to be great fun for everyone attending this event. If you have not purchased your tickets already, jump on it today or you risk missing a fun afternoon.
