Football has a long-standing legacy at Mount Carmel. It has been the flagship sport of Mount Carmel for decades. When a dog-eat-dog game like football is still going strong after so many years, enemies are made; rivalries are forged.

Last Friday, Mount Carmel faced off against their longtime rival Saint Rita, and after a grueling match, Saint Rita took the lead in the fourth quarter. Much to their chagrin, Mount Carmel was not able to even the score and take back the lead. This resulted in Saint Rita winning the game 38-21. This loss dropped Mount Carmel to a 3-2 record for this season, or at least so far.

This Friday, Mount Carmel faces off against another long-standing rival: Brother Rice. If Mount Carmel wins their match against Brother Rice, they stand a chance at winning the conference.
