Pablo Iglesias returns to MC to talk to the 21st Century Media Class

On January 24, our 21st Century Media class was lucky enough to have 2012 alum and former MC social media specialist Pablo Iglesias ’12 return to campus to talk about his education, career, his new job and the wisdom he has picked up along the way.
A former student editor of mccaravan.org, and lead announcer for CBN’s broadcasts of Caravan athletics, Iglesias is well on his way to achieving his dream of a career in sports broadcasting.
Iglesias is currently a weekend sports anchor for WEEK TV in Peoria, Illinois. Iglesias loves his new job. What stands out to him the most is the “rush” of seeing a story opportunity develop.
After MC, Iglesias attended Bradley University, where he pursued his love for journalism and was fortunate enough to have some amazing opportunities. Over one summer, Bradley provided Iglesias with an internship with the LA Dodgers and IHeart radio.
“The experience was amazing. Being able to have my own email that ended in ‘@ladodgers.net’ was surreal,” said Iglesias.
Iglesias was also able to give us some great wisdom for our future careers. He challenged the class to always have a plan, set goals, build relationship skills and make your own opportunities.
Iglesias loves his journalism career and reminded the class that when it comes to choosing a major or career,  to “love what you do, and do what you love.” He looks forward to continuing his career wherever it may take him.
