Mrs. Jennifer Auguste is a new addition to Mount Carmel as the Assistant Director of Admissions. She comes to Mount Carmel from the corporate world where she worked in human resources. She wanted a more meaningful work environment and a place where she could have a bigger impact.
Auguste is the youngest of three and grew up in South Shore. She attended both John T. Pierre Elementary School and Dickson Elementary School. For high school she first attended Unity High School, but graduated from Gwendolyn Brooks in 1989.
For college, after beginning at Illinois State University, she earned her liberal arts degree from Chicago State University in 1997.
Some of her favorite sports teams are the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. She also likes watching Olympic swimming and women’s tennis, because she played tennis as a kid.
Auguste is “driven every day to wake up and work,” and often continues at her desk until five in the afternoon, because she believes in the mission of MC.
She has two sons who attend Mount Carmel, a current junior and freshman. Seeing the positive change in her oldest son over the last two years is the reason she promotes the school to everyone she knows. She advises people to not be put off from a single-sex education; she believes this is the beauty of MC because it is essential in developing young men without the distraction of a co-ed school.
