Bush brings strong belief in inclusive Catholic education

Mrs. Margaret (Maggie) Bush is a new member of Mount Carmel’s staff and will be working with students in the McDermott-Doyle Program.

A graduate of Mother McAuley High School and St. Joseph College, she pursued a double major in history and English.  She later earned a master’s degree at the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Bush brings 12 years of teaching experience in both Catholic and public schools, including previous work in resource programs like McDermott-Doyle.

Moving from elementary to high school education is a change for Bush, but she’s excited by the challenge and appreciates single sex schools like Mount Carmel, which she feels “are more effective for the learner.”

She also is excited to be working in the McDermott-Doyle program, because she is a strong advocate that “Catholic education should be inclusive” of students of all learning styles.

With approximately 10% of Mount Carmel students benefitting from the McDermott-Doyle Program, Bush is a welcome addition to our faculty.
