Placement test to be held Saturday, January 14

The Mount Carmel placement test will take place this Saturday, January 14th, at 8 A.M.

Future members of the Caravan will begin their Mount Carmel journey this Saturday, January 14 at 8 A.M. by taking the placement test.  Any 8th grade boy who is interested in Mount Carmel is welcome.  6th or 7th graders are not permitted.

The results of the students’ exams will place them in the correct academic program for the next four years, either in the Honors, Excel, or Foundations level.

Mount Carmel also offers scholarships for academically gifted students, based on the exam results.  Those who score in the 99th national percentile will receive a full-tuition scholarship for their freshman year, followed by a $4,000 deduction per year from sophomore to senior year (if student maintains 4.0 cumulative GPA).  Anyone who scores above the 90th national percentile is eligible for a $2,000 scholarship for each of his four years (if a 3.75 career GPA is maintained).

Mr. Bill Nolan, Director of MC Admissions, suggests that all test takers should “get a good night’s sleep, relax, eat a great breakfast, and do your best.”

The testing fee is $25, cash or check.  Any additional questions can be addressed to Mr. Nolan ([email protected]) or Associate Director of Admissions Mr. Phil Seagroves ([email protected]).

Good luck Saturday, future Caravan! Do your best!
