On Saturday, December 1, Mount Carmel will host the 8th grade entrance exam. This exam helps give MC some insight into the academic potential of each student, in order to place applicants into the best classes to succeed.

Mr. Erich Lieser is a new face to Mount Carmel. This year, he took on the role of Assistant Recruitment Director. He has a lot of takeaways from his first year in his new role. He enjoys being able to “show off how great the school and people are” at events such as Open House.

Lieser reports that this year, MC had over 200 shadows visit to experience a day in the life of an MC student. He believes that this high interest from shadows “reflects the school’s reputation in athletics,” as well as our tradition of academic excellence and character building.

According to Lieser, everything is “ready to go” for the test on Saturday. “We have all the proctors, tests, packets and pencils ready for the students.”

In the face of all the pressure and hard work in preparing for test day, Lieser observed that the most important thing he’s learned this year is to “stay positive.”
