Jadyn Benson and his Caravan teammates will battle the St. Laurence Vikings in an IHSA Regional Semifinal game on Wednesday, March 4.

On Friday, January 31,  Mount Carmel will welcome prospective members of the incoming freshman class for a reception during the varsity basketball game. All incoming freshmen and their parents are invited to attend the event. Pizza and pop will be provided in the Kiszka Suite before and during the game against Providence, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Cacciatore Gym.

Head Basketball Coach Phil Segroves believes that it will be a great opportunity to introduce the newest members of the Caravan to one of our athletic programs.  In addition to enjoying Catholic League basketball, the guests will witness the unveiling of a banner commemorating Mount Carmel’s IHSA State Football Championship last November.

Despite its poor record this year (1-17), Segroves points out that “Providence is a well-coached team and tough in general. We were able to beat them last year, but this year they look like a better team.”

Mount Carmel recently sent letters of admission to over 200 current 8th graders who had taken the high school placement test last December.
