Every game is a playoff game now
Following Mount Carmel’s 63-20 win over the Leo Lions, the Caravan stands at 3-4. Junior Matt McKay, an offensive lineman for Mount Carmel, expressed that the team’s mindset for the final two games of the season – against Hales Franciscan and Loyola Academy – is “Do or Die.”
Senior Myles Talton is one fan who believes the Caravan can do it, “They just have to come together.”
While the Caravan has struggled in the Chicago Catholic League Blue this year, everyone on the team believes that the season still can have a great ending. “The season is not over yet, there are great things to come,” says senior DeAndre Greer, who plays on the defensive line.
Hales Franciscan stands at 5-2 as they prepare for the Caravan on Saturday, October 18. Loyola, tied for second place in the conference at 6-1, plays MC October 24. The Caravan can’t afford any mistakes at this point.
MC will have to play its best as the season is coming to an end. McKay says, “The team is coming together; everyone is working to achieve the same goal.”
Senior wide receiver Cullen Walsh agrees. “Every game is a playoff game now.”
