In the third and final signing day on the year, twelve more student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, April 29, in the Kiszka Suite, to continue their athletic careers in college.

Two of the 12, Nick Wheeler and Nelson Munoz, are looking forward to playing together for another four years at Grambling State University in Louisiana.

Wheeler and Munoz are not the only Caravan alums who will be together.  Dan Sanchez, who signed with St. Ambrose for football, and Kevin Krahn, who will play basketball, both will attend St. Ambrose College in Iowa.

Sanchez feels that playing with such talented teammates at MC will give him an advantage on college.

Kevin Krahn, meanwhile, decided to keep a family tradition going by choosing the school two of his sisters attended.”It has a great family atmosphere to the school, and I just felt at home when I visited. I plan to continue my hard work down at school, which I have incorporated from Coach Himes, who has taught me so much in these past four years.”

Aaryn Chandler who committed to Centre College for baseball; Emmanuel Okafor, who will attend UW Lacrosse for basketball; and Tom Jones, who will play volleyball for Marian University, all look forward to continue to work hard academically and athletically.

Several of the seniors who committed for baseball shared a common denominator in their choices.  Bailey Egan, North Central College; Jordan Mikolajewski, Iowa Wesleyan; and Mike Lorenzi, Benedictine University, all feel that what really attracted them to these schools was the “family atmosphere and brotherhood.”

Finally, Connor Guzior, Wabash University (for wrestling), and Tim Griffin, Robert Morris (for golf), rounded out the group for signing day.

After completing the third signing day on the year, at least 24 MC students are going to continue competing athletically in college. Along with the rest of the Class of 2015, they move forward on starting a new chapter of their lives.
