After a respectable regular season record of 6 – 4, the Mount Carmel bowling team completed its season with a disappointing 10th place finish in the IHSA sectionals on Saturday, January 19.  Only the top 6 teams from the sectionals will advance to the state finals.  The sectional round was held at Brunswick Zone in Woodridge, Illinois.

The bowlers who represented MC were Chris Davy ’19, Hayden Shimala’19, Trent Smith’20, Derrion Drake Ford’20, Kolton Hall’21, Matthew Martinez’19 and Ameen Morgan’19.

At the regionals on the previous weekend, the team ended up coming in 3rd place out of the 11 teams.  All of Mount Carmel’s bowlers scored among the top 30 individuals for that tournament, with Hayden Shimala finishing sixth.  Ameen Morgan (10th), Derrion Drake Ford (18th), Trent Smith (21st), and Matthew Martinez (23rd) also had strong tournaments.
