A playoff without LeBron James – finally

The NBA playoffs generate lots of debate among die-hard fans. (google image labeled for reuse on Wikimedia .com)

LeBron James has gone to the playoffs 13 times in a row with the Cavs and the Heat. This year would make 14, but unfortunately, the Lakers ended the season with a record of 35-47, finishing 11th in their conference and falling short of the last playoff seed.  I just cannot believe that LeBron is not in the playoffs this year. It is amazing to think that – finally – we can enjoy an NBA playoff without him.

The biggest discussion at the moment is over who is going to win each conference.  I think that the Warriors are going to take the West, while the 76ers are likely to emerge from the Eastern Conference.

As the second round of playoff games continues, the Golden State Warriors are 2-2 against the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers are 3-2 against Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics are 3-1 against Milwaukee Bucks, and the Toronto Raptors are 3-2 Philadelphia 76ers.

Most people seem convinced that the Warriors are taking it all this year.  I hope that the 76ers make it to the finals and at least give the Warriors a run for their money.
