Caravan stage being set up for the fall play.

This year’s fall play is a comedy called “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” which is described by director Mr. Dennis Brumirski as a “Saturday Night Live style re-imagining of Shakespeare’s most famous plays.”  The show will be performed on October 8th and 10th for the students at Mount Carmel during the school day and on October 9th, 10th, and 11th at 7PM in the Student Center for the general public.

The play features 16 Mount Carmel students who play close to one hundred different roles with multiple costume changes, epic swordfights, boys wearing dresses, and according to senior Will Maloney, “the kind of humor that appeals to an all-boys school.”

“Make no mistake,” says Maloney, “this is nothing like sitting through the study of Shakespeare in your English class.”  The show promises to be fast paced, loud, and funny.  And according to Brumirski, “Just like Shakespeare it’s a little dirty, and everybody dies at the end.”  The difference in this play, though, is that everybody dies at the end not once, but three times.

The show features seniors Will Maloney and Rich Ehlert in major roles with support from seniors Mark Buoscio and Cameron Adams, juniors Jordan Williams and Wallace Goode, and freshmen Robert Spicer and Eric Correa.  The set was designed and decorated by the cast with construction help from Fathers’ Club member Greg McKay, whose son Patrick is also in the play.
