Sophomore Orrin Myrick celebrated Christmas party with family

Christmas Break is always a good time to sit back and revive for students. This year, there were two full weeks, 16 days, for the students to relax and sleep in, and do what they wanted before coming back to a new year. Mount Carmel students enjoyed this Christmas in different ways.

Junior Gabe LeBlanc spent his break in the sun while checking up on his family. “I went to Florida for my break to visit my family members.” Like many other students, he was happy about sleeping late, “because when we have school I have to wake up early to make it on time.”

Freshman Jaylan Clay mostly hung out with his family. They went out to eat and  “spent quality time together.” He enjoyed taking his mind off of  school and being with his family, and was excited about the opportunity he had to practice for baseball. “I had a great time away from school and focused on baseball and my family.”

Sophomore Orrin Myrick had a great time while enjoying a traditional Christmas party. “Every year we have a party at my grandma’s house with our entire family over.” His preparations for the party helped Myrick focus on the importance of Christmas. “I had to clean up my grandma’s basement.” At first it made him angry, but “I thought about the meaning of Christmas and what it was about, and was glad I was able to help my grandma out.”
