if  you’re looking to mix some fun and with learning geometry,  Mr. David Milavickas is the teacher you will want. Joining Mount Carmel this fall from St. Malachy Junior High, Milavickas will be teaching excel and honors geometry teacher.

A graduate from Eastern Michigan with a BA in math, Milavickas is a father of 6 children, two of whom are in the military (one Army and one Air Force), and is also a grandfather.

Given his previous teaching experiences, which included an earlier tenure at St. Rita High School, along with many years working in finance, it is clear that Milavickas comes to Mount Carmel with vast knowledge of math and is excited for this new challenge in his life. Upon joining the Caravan this past August, he was struck by the behavior of  Mount Carmel students. In his words, it was a “pleasant surprise” to see how well the students listen and act.

Milavickas believes that to be a good teacher, “you really need a good sense of humor.” It’s important that you can have fun with the class, but also important, “that the kids learn.” He seems to have found that mix, as he  added that he “looks forward to coming to Mount Carmel everyday.”

In addition to being a teacher, Milavickas is also a musician and a coach for the freshman football team and enjoys being a well rounded individual.
