Halloween is right around the corner, falling on a Thursday this year.

To mark the holiday, Mount Carmel’s Student Council is sponsoring a Halloween costume contest.  Students may dress up as their favorite character (as long as it’s school appropriate) or may choose MC spirit wear.

As in the past, the costume competitions will take place during lunches, and there will be prizes for the best costume in each lunch period.

This year, the Halloween celebration will extend beyond Thursday, as it will be the theme for this Friday’s football playoff game against Eisenhower. The best costumes will likely be featured on the MC twitter account.

There is one important reminder concerning the game:  unlike regular season games, which students can attend for free, the IHSA requires everyone including students to purchase a $5 ticket for the playoffs.
