Mount Carmel sophomores are traveling either to Aurora or Libertyville today to volunteer the two “Feed My Starving Children” sites located in those suburbs.  This is to “make-up” for the cancellation due to snow days during Sophomore Impact Week last January.

According to its website, Feed My Starving Children, founded in 1987, is a Christian non-profit “that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.”  Volunteers work in teams to create individual meals and package the meals for shipment to some of the poorest areas in the world.

Upon returning to school, sophomores will participate in a series of workshops to reflect further on their responsibilities to address issues of hunger and poverty in the world.
