This past weekend, including Friday, was a weekend of winning.
On Friday, September 27, the Freshman Football Team took on Marmion Military Academy, beating the Cadets 16-0.
On Saturday, September 28, the Varsity Football Team also played Marmion, beating the Cadets 6-0. Justin Lynch, the starting quarterback for Mount Carmel, ultimately won the game with his QB sneak. The rain caused the field to be extremely treacherous. Duke Allen, a player for the MC Caravan said, “It was an all-around mud bath.”
Also on Saturday, the Mount Carmel JV and Varsity teams played University High School’s teams at Barda-Dowling Stadium.
The JV team won the game 1-0, with sophomore Ellis Yeboah scoring the game-winning goal.
The varsity came from behind to win the game 3-2 with goals from sophomore Tono Valencia, junior Daniel Favela, and junior Nadim Gomez.
Sophomore football travels to Marmion today for a 4 p.m. game.
