October 11, 2019

On this “International Day of the Girl,” Mount Carmel students honor our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, and friends.  Many students are wearing pink today in support of the Student Council fundraiser for breast cancer research.  Students also are encouraged to wear pink for tonight’s home football games vs. De La Salle.

Sophs play at 5:00; varsity at 7:30.  (The freshmen football team has a 9:00 a.m. game at Richards High School on Saturday.)

Speech Team will hold its first meeting on Monday, October 14 in Room 201.

Bowling tryouts will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week – 4 p.m. each day at Castaways Bowl in Calumet City.

Congratulations to Mr. Glonek’s Studium G104, the first to break the $100 mark for the mission collection this year. Nice job!

Today is the first of two Columbus Day weekend shadow days for grammar school students.  The Admissions Office anticipates as many as 50 seventh and eighth graders will be on campus both today and Monday.  MC students and faculty will have our Columbus Day holiday on the following Monday, October 21.
