Mount Carmel seniors, juniors and sophomores gathered as individual groups on the football field of Barda-Dowling Stadium today for class liturgies, in lieu of the traditional all-school Mass of the Holy Spirit.  Fr. Jim Lewis, O. Carm, presided at each of the Masses, and urged students to follow in the tradition of all those who “laid the spiritual brick and mortar” that built the school.

Freshmen will have their class liturgy next week.

Congratulations to the golf team, which continued its winning streak with victories against Latin High School on Wednesday afternoon at the Sydney Marovitz course on the lakefront.  The varsity was led by Ahmad Raoul’s round of 39, which was good for the top medal at the event.  George Keeley (42), Michael O’Keefe (43), Jack Urbon (44) and Chris Whelton (44) also had strong matches.

The JV was limited to playing just seven holes, but reied upon Evan Wiersma (37), Tim Christie (38), Jack Boyle (41) and Jack McGuire (41) to secure victory as well.

The Caravan competes against Willowcrest in Oak Brook this afternoon.

The first meeting of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) will take place next Wednesday in Room 216 immediately after school.
