The morning began with the first scheduled fire drill of the school year.  Students, faculty and staff filed out of classes and made their way either to the YMCA parking lot, or Barda-Dowling Stadium.  Principal Scott Tabernacki congratulated the student body on their orderly movement, but reminded all that earbuds and headphones never should be worn during either practice – or real emergency evacuations.

Today’s beautiful weather is perfect for the first freshmen IMPACT service group to walk over to Jackson Park.  Freshmen will learn about the history of the park and the importance of green spaces in the midst of an urban environment, collect debris, and participate in a prayer service at the Japanese Garden. The theme of the Freshman IMPACT program is “Caring for God’s Creation.”
