Mount Carmel’s newly formed esports team won its first pre-season match on Thursday afternoon against a team from North Dakota!

Holden Shimala (TTV.Tactiical), Tommy Malkowski (TrainerTom2), and Isaiah Heard (Brackman) competed against Sheyenne High School’s Rocket League Team, a competition that resembles 3v3 soccer, but instead of using feet involves driving a supercharged car to hit the oversized ball.

The Caravan team won the best of five series 3-0.

A second Caravan esports team is forming to compete in another game, Overwatch.

The golf team concluded its season with a 6th place finish in the IHSA Sectional hosted by Wheaton Academy on Thursday morning at St. Andrew’s in West Chicago.  Michael O’Keefe (86), Ahmad Raoul (88), Chris Whelton (89) and Jack Urbon (90) represented the Caravan.

Students have the option of a dress down day today if they make a contribution to the Student Counci’s breast cancer research fundraiser, and wear some clothing item (or mask) that is pink.
