It’s been exactly eight months since March 13, when Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker first issued a “stay at home” order that necessitated all school move to remote learning.  While all schools concluded the 2019-20 school year learning from home, most Mount Carmel students returned to in-person learning this past August.

On Thursday, a number of students reported potential exposure to the coronavirus.  In response, the school administration decided to institute remote learning until the affected students can be tested, and the extent of the risk to our community can be assessed.  Accordingly, all students will be remote at least today and Monday, November 16.

With the new spike of COVID-19 cases, there is more need than ever for students to follow the safety protocols:  wearing masks (in and out of school), washing hands frequently, maintaining social distance.
