In neighborhood news, a federal regulatory review process recently approved the planned Obama Presidential Center can proceed, and the Obama Foundation announced plans for groundbreaking later this year.  While development is likely to take several years, the center has the potential to revitalize the Woodlawn Community, and Mount Carmel stands to benefit from its proximity.

The Multicultural Club continued its morning announcements for Black History month with information about civil rights icons Rosa Parks and Sojourner Truth.
