The Student Council is sponsoring a dress down fundraiser today to mark Women’s History Month.  For a $1 contribution, students may dress in MC spirit wear (sweats, t-shirts, etc).  The funds will be donated to Madonna Mission, a Chicago not-for-profit organization that provides education and resettlement support for recent immigrants and refugees.  The mission meets the needs of women and children who are eager to build a productive life in our country, and offers English language classes and tutoring, along with a variety of other support services.

In past years, Mount Carmel students have volunteered at Madonna Mission during Impact Service Weeks, although that was not possible this year due to COVID-19.

The mission recently moved into a much larger facility in a vacant Catholic school, and will use our funds to help complete the process of renovating and equipping the new space.
