The most unusual of all football seasons came to a close on Friday evening as the Caravan lost at Br. Rice, 21-13.

The extracurricular focus now turns to the “real’ spring sports:  baseball, volleyball, track, lacrosse, water polo and rugby.  Mount Carmel will not sponsor a tennis team this spring.  Wrestling, ordinarily a winter sport, also will have an opportunity for an abbreviated season.  As of now, the only sports for which the IHSA is offering an official state tournament are baseball and water polo.
