Games Club welcomes all on Wednesday afternoons

It’s not uncommon to see many students who are waiting for rides hanging out in the Commons after school.  If it happens to be a Wednesday, there’s an activity that can help you pass the time:  the MC Games Club.

The club was started six years ago by Mr. David Glonek, one of Mount Carmel’s teachers, and  meets weekly on Wednesdays immediately after school.

On an average Wednesday, 10 to 15 students show up, and participants can play any games they want.  The most popular game currently is Super Smash Brothers.

While Mr. Glonek doesn’t have any personal favorite game, he’s happy to make his classroom available to anyone who is interested.

His invitation is simple:  “Come on in.  Don’t sit in the Commons looking at your phone.  Hang out with us.”
