After enjoying the first two days of Spirit Week activities (intramural basketball and floor hockey), MC students were treated to various tasty foods during extended lunches for Wednesday’s Taste of MC. For this twice-annual event – held in the Commons – MC clubs and sports engage in a friendly challenge to see which can raise the most money to support their actiity, while simultaneously getting exposure and recruiting new members for each activity.

MC Rugby featured Casey Gilhooly’s famous pulled pork mac and cheese. It was a very popular choice throughout both lunch periods and did not disappoint.

Many students chose to follow the mac and cheese with a “second course” of horchata from the Multicultural Club. Others moved on to the hockey table, which offered delicious walking tacos, or to baseball, which featured Punkie’s beef and breaded steak sandwiches.

To wash it all down, lacrosse provided Green River floats, while anyone with a sweet tooth could grab home-made cookies from tennis, or ice cream sandwiches from Mr. Sortal’s new Finance Club.

The Taste of MC was a big hit this year with a large variety of foods offering something different than the normal lunch menu.
