Food drive offers chance to give back
Every year Mount Carmel does a canned food drive before Thanksgiving for people who are in need. Students are asked to give 5 cans each. Whether beans or veggies, soup or canned fruit, any type of non-perishable food item is appreciated.
With many students learning from home this year, the number of donations to date appears to be lower than previous years, but the need is even greater. So those who have not yet contributed are urged to do so, and those who already have donated are encouraged to give more.
Senior Connor Gaynor pointed out that participating in the food drive does more than make a difference for hungry families.
“Giving back gives me a sense of satisfaction. It makes me feel like a better person,” he said, smiling.
