The varsity wrestling team took first place at the IHSA Regional tournament at Reavis High School on February 2.

On February 2, the nationally-ranked Caravan wrestling team was in action in the first round of the post-season.

The IHSA regional was at Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois. The team entered the tournament with 14 wrestlers, and walked out 5 hours later with all 14 wrestlers having qualified for sectionals.

With thirteen finalists and nine champions (listed below), the Caravan also took first in the team race. Taking first place as a team clinched a spot in the IHSA team sectional, which takes place Tuesday, February 19.

The Caravan championships were earned by Jordan Blew (106); Colton Drousias (113); Rehan Uribe (120); Noah Mis (126); Alex Lalezas (132); Connor Gaynor (138); Miles Hoey (145); Dan Benoit (182); and Robert Bowman (195).

The team will take the mat this Friday night and Saturday at Bolingbrook High School for the IHSA Individual Sectional tournament. The top four wrestlers at each weight will move on to the IHSA State Championships next week.

Good luck to all wrestlers!
