One of the best known faculty members at Mount Carmel was born on October 18.  Although he grew up in Wilmette, Illinois, he made the long commute to 64th and Dante in order to attend the same school his grandfather attended years ago.  After graduating from MC in 2012, he went on to earn a degree in business from Saint Louis University and currently lives in Wrigleyville.

He enjoys sports, reading, and watching movies. One of his recent favorites movies is “Hereditary,” a film about a daughter discovering the horrors of her ancestry.

He also enjoys music.  His current go-to artist is Earl Sweatshirt.

If you haven’t guessed yet, the staff member I am describing is Mr. Conor Hirsch.

Following a brief tenure working elsewhere, Hirsch returned to MC last school year to serve as a full-time sub, a role in which he got to know many students.  In addition to his subbing, he also regularly assisted Mrs. Millsapp’s chemistry class last year and has served as an assistant football coach for freshmen.  Then, last summer, MC President Ned Hughes asked Hirsch to take on his current role as Director of Alumni Relations.

Hirsch is happy to be back at MC “since it is different than other jobs.” While he enjoys his work in the alumni office all day, he appreciates being able to move around and interact with the students.

Hirsch is one of the many MC staff members who contribute to the success of the school and help to build community along the way.
